Their Story
Found My Animal was founded in Brooklyn, New York, after a chance meeting between two women walking their rescue Chihuahuas—both coincidentally named Walter. United by their love of rescue dogs, good design and traditional craftsmanship, Bethany Obrecht and Anna Conway created their first handcrafted rope lead using techniques inspired by maritime rope splicing.
What began as a simple handmade lead quickly grew into an internationally recognised pet lifestyle brand. Every lead is individually hand-spliced and finished with a numbered solid brass FOUND tag, symbolising the joy of giving rescued animals a loving forever home. The brand's mission has remained unchanged since the beginning: to celebrate pet adoption and encourage more animals to find loving families.
